Here we are! NYC summer 2013! Bring out the shorts, the tank tops, the huaraches, and the bathing suits. Dive in. The water is fine!
Well, another fab year teaching school based yoga programs. The kids were awesome, as always. It’s amazing to see the difference and change in my lil’ friends over the course of the school year. We meet in September and end in June. Some kids are a little bit uncomfortable being away from their parents for so long, maybe even a bit shy, as they get accustomed to the routine of a school day. But I try and show them that I’m excited and really happy to spend time with them. It always ends up being fun, which yoga should be. Then by the end of the year we’ve bonded, connected, and made a community where everyone is welcomed. Some kids get even a bit sad at year’s end. But I tell them, “Enjoy your summer! I’ll see you in September, and I can’t wait to hear about your summer break. Un brazo muy grande!”
Speaking of year’s end, I also just finished my advanced study of Yoga Anatomy with Leslie Kaminoff at The Breathing Project. We started in October 2012 and just finished this June. I learned so much that I can even try to describe it. You just have to take one of my classes to see for yourself! Take a peek-a-boo at my summer teaching schedule, and boogie on down to one of my classes!
Enjoy your day, and fly like bird!
