Interesting Facts – Cultivated mainly for its culinary uses, the seed is a characteristic flavoring in central European cooking, where it is used to season breads, cakes, cheeses, and vegetable dishes. The common name “caraway’ derives from the Arabic word for “seeds”, al-karwiya.
