How Yoga Can Wreck Your Body – New York Times

Here’s my two cents/humble opinion.

I agree with a lot of the comments from Glenn Black, that Yoga shouldn’t hurt you. It’s a practice of self-awareness, not self-ego. The ego leads to injury. I keep my classes easy-breezy. I’m not into the “Master Class” thing tough. I feel it’s too exclusive when Yoga should be inclusive. I’ve just seen too many people intimidated by the terminology “master” and “advanced” when it comes to Yoga. They don’t come. Not into that. I’m not feeling his comment about making the practice as hard as possible, and it’s up to you to make it easy on yourself. It’s too much of a mind-game. I set my students up with the basics, and encourage them to find the easiest possible way to receive the greatest benefit. There are different forms of a Yoga practice, but these different forms shouldn’t be a problem. Go and experience the different forms of Yoga. The practice should speak to you. Not hurt you.

Can I get a namaste up in here?!
