Yoga Sutra Quote of the Day. II.35.

Recently, I’ve been reading several different translations of the Yoga Sutra of Patañjali to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the practice and teachings. Not only does the Sutra address Yoga with a thorough and consistent philosophical basis, it also clarifies many important esoteric concepts which are common to traditions of Indian thought. I’ve read translations by Sri Swami Satchidananda and Georg Feuerstein. The translation I’m currently reading is by Nischala Joy Devi. Wow, are they different or not?! Yes, they are different, but yet, they are talking about the same thing. They just go about it a bit different. I appreciate all three translations. Next, I’ll be reading a translation by Chip Hartranft. This one will have a contemporary American Buddhist slant to the ancient practice. Follow me as I post quotes!

“Embracing reverence and love for all (Ahimsa), we experience oneness.” Yoga Sutra of Patañjali trs. Nischala Joy Devi.
